"All that I see is going away

People change to do good or sin,
The winds change, and everything else,

---------------- Joan Airas de Santiago, menestrel galego, do século XIII ou XIV, compôs essa obra-prima de poesia, que eu, apaixonado, tentei verter para o Inglês. Tradução é um negócio tão difícil que compus umas seis versões, sem ficar completamente satisfeito com nenhuma. O título do poema é "Todalas cousas eu vejo partir." Até o final da vida, devo produzir umas trinta e quatro versões. O problema é transpor a métrica, os acentos, as rimas e, mais importante de tudo, o duplo sentido dos versos. O verbo "partir", por exemplo, é usado em duplo sentido, quase no poema todo. Esse poema é bom demais, daí a dificuldade de traduzi-lo.
